Exhaustion and Waving the White Flag (for Tonight)

Sometimes work is lovely to the point of exhaustion. I know. It’s a problem I have. I don’t want to let go of the work, even for an evening.

But what if, at least theoretically, you were to take the night off. Would you even know what to do? here are my suggestions:

1. Sleep. You remember sleep, don’t you? It’s that restful state you despise because it keeps you from finishing the report, writing the email, or updating the company’s Facebook page.

2. Talk with you family and/or friends. You remember family and friends, don’t you? You got into this for your family. At least that’s what you tell them (and yourself), right?

3. Exercise. If you haven’t figured out how important exercise is, you might as well do it anyway. Because it’s the most important thing you do for your

4. Watch television. You could watch something that interests you (Cosmos?) or something that entertains (The Colbert Report?). Either way, it might open up some head space to you, help you to think clearer about what’s really important.
